Alcatel launches POP 7 and POP 8 Android tablets at CES
Alctatel has just unveiled the POP 7 and POP 8 budget tablets at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. These tablets will be targeted towards budget range segment and as a result, will not go heavy on your wallets. On the specs front, we can’t expect a lot of innovation or new tech, but it’s fairly decent for budget tablets.
The POP 7 comes with a 7 inch display sporting a resolution of 1024×600. It also comes with 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, a 2MP rear camera with a 0.3MP front camera, a 1.3 GHz dual core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a 3,240 mAh battery.
The POP 8 on the other hand sports a 8 inch 1280×800 resolution display, a 1.3 GHz quad core CPU, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a slightly larger battery and pretty much the same hardware as the POP 7 (storage, RAM, dual cameras etc).
Both tablets feature cellular connectivity (3G), so you can use the tablets on the go for browsing or streaming content which is a good luxury to have. The tablets will be available in Africa, Europe and the Middle East by the end of Q1. The POP 7 will be priced at €149 ($202) while the POP 8 will cost €199 ($270).
