Pipo P1 Tablet Has Retina-like Display and Quad-Core Rockchip RK3288

PIPO is one of China’s most prominent white box tablet makers and the company offers a variety of machines, from slates running on Intel Bay Trail with Windows to devices with MediaTek processors and Android.

The company’s latest P1 is a product attempting to bring more competition to Retina display tablet clones out there.

PIPO P1

As AndroidPC reports, the P1 is a 9.7-inch tablet that offers 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution. In the hardware department, PIPO takes advantage of Rockchip’s latest RK3288 quad-core SoC manufactured at 28nm, with clock frequencies that can reach up to 1.6GHz.

The tablet takes advantage of Mali T764 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Something that will certainly draw attention here, is the huge 10,000 mAh battery that should provide eternal life to your slate.

The slate also comes equipped with two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP up in front) and PIPO says the slate will come running a forked version of Android optimized for multi-window multi-tasking activities. The user interface should be very interesting to behold, especially on a tablet with such a size factor.

At the moment, the producing company hasn’t made any announcement regarding availability dates and pricing, but the PIPO P1 will first be launched in China towards the middle of next month.
